This Book Is My Gift...

Saturday, 26 July 2008 17:59 by Bible Review

This Book is my gift to you because you are my hero.  You are in a place of danger, so I can live in a place of safety.  You are seperated from friends and family, so my family peacefully exists.  You are the backbone of our great nation.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart for going where you are, doing what you do, and being who you are.

I pray for safety, for God's peace and protection no matter what my befall you.  Know that for as long as I live, you have someone praying for you every day, and trust that God will hear my prayers and will bless you now and for ever more.

You are my hero! On the next page is my prayer for you.  When you pray it, know I am praying it also with you.  God will hear us both;

Heavenly Father, You have told us the very hairs on our heads are numbered.  You love us so much!  Hear us now and grant us Your peace and protection.  Send Your Holy Spirit to strengthen us, as we become weary from fear and loneliness.  Help us find Your plan for us as we meet wach new day with apprehension, and finally, thank you Lord for giving us eternal life with You.  Thank you Jesus, our Savior, Your Son, who sacrificed Himself willingly so we can be free from sin's power and death.  You, Father, are the Power and the Glory forever and ever, Amen

Again, accept my most sincere and deepest gratitude which I also extend to your family who suffers in your absence.

Bless you, Penny

It Was These Words That LIfted Me...

Tuesday, 22 July 2008 19:14 by Bible Review

Hello,

I do not know your name, where you are, or any of the things you face in life each day.  But, I know the God who knows all of those things and loves you specifically (Psalm 33:13-15).  It is my sincerest hope that His words will bring you peace, challenge, wisdom, joy, guidance, and companionship.  In my darkest hours, it was these words that lifted me and in my most joyous moments, these words could reflect my heart back to me.  Thank you for serving our country.  Though I may never meet you, I will always be thankful for you and I pray that you feel God's amazing presence through His Word.

In His,

Carrie, AZ

Many Of My Family Served...

Tuesday, 22 July 2008 18:54 by Bible Review

Hello Soldiers,

Many of my family served in the military; from my dad in WWI, my brother in WWII, myself in Korea, my wife's brother in Vietnam, to my son and my wife's niece in Desert Storm.  I'm sure my two year old grandson will be involved one day.  All of us who have been there know the feeling of loneliness and seperation.  Keep in mind that what you are doing for your country, family, and yourself is wholly appreciated and supported by us back home.  May God bless you, keep you, and bring you home to us.

My Prayer Is That...

Tuesday, 22 July 2008 18:37 by Bible Review

Thank you for all you do.  My father was in the Air Force and my brother is currently.  My prayer is that when my brother is sent in harm's way, he too will receive words of encouragement.  I pray for the safety of all overseas and for their families back home.  Know that God's hands are in everything.  For encouragement, read Psalm 139.

I Cried Out

Tuesday, 22 July 2008 18:24 by Bible Review

Dear Hero,

Thank you for serving your country.  I deeply appreciate it.  I pray for your protection and wisdom everyday.  My husband lived in California for 16 years while I raised four children; no family or help.  At my deepest despair, I cried out to the Lord,"I need wisdom, counselor. advocate, guidance, and a righteous father for my children."  I can say He answered my prayers, became part of my life, and still is.  I pray this Bible will bless you as it has me.  If the Bible is new to you, start reading in the New Testament.  I pray that you will grow in the Lord and come home a new man with a new heart.  Keep safe! God will protect you, but listen to his quiet voice.

"Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth."- Colossians 3:2

Sister in Christ,

Cindy

P.S.- We live in Arizona so I can't understand how you can bare the heat! It must be horrible! Thank you again! God bless you!

We Are The Few Left...

Tuesday, 22 July 2008 18:17 by Bible Review

Thank you so much for defending the freedom of the U.S.A.  We are the few left of all the nations to worship freely the God of the Holy Bible without physical restriction.  As the defender of freedom that you are, you are helping the gospel to reach the world where it's needed and I'm grateful for your courageous duty.  I pray for your safe return home.

In Christ,

From First Grade Sunday School:

 Dear men,
I will give you fruit and money in a little present box.  I am six.

 Hi,

My name is Isaiah and I am seven years old.  God loves you!

 Dear Soldier

God loves you.  My name is Serena and I am six.

To the one who receives this book,

God has chosen you this day to receive His Word, this Book.  We all have sinned and stand guilty before the judgement of His law.  But God has paid the price for sins himself and if we accept His terms (surrender) we are truly free and blessed under His protection, provision, and love.  His Word will make you wise unto salvation.

God Has Given Us His Word...

Tuesday, 22 July 2008 16:16 by Bible Review

Thank you for your service to America and abroad to provide and protect freedom and liberty.  God has given us His Word, the Bible, to provide us with a light and a guide for us to navigate through the darkness of this world.  We are His creation and He has designed us to be completely reliant on Him.  To seek any other way in life will only invite sorrow and fustration.

Like a spring of water in a desert land is our Lord Jesus Christ to our thirsty soul!

I Am A Third Grade Teacher...

Tuesday, 22 July 2008 15:20 by Bible Review

Although we do not know each other personally, I want you to know how much our family appreciates your courage and sacrifice.  I am a third grade teacherband each day I stand with my twenty students to salute the American flag and say The Pledge  of Allegiance.  I remind my students that there are brave men and women out in the world who are fighting for our privileges to enjoy freedom.  As I remind them, they each stand a little taller and you can hear the pride in their voices as they say the words of the Pledge.  As we go about our daily lives here, please know that you are not forgotten.  May God give you the strength to keep going each day.  May you always know that what you are doing is important and appreciated.  From our family to yours, may God bless you and keep you all the days of your life.

Our prayers are with you!

Until Now...

Monday, 21 July 2008 11:53 by Bible Review

Until now all members of the Armed Forces have been in my prayers.  But now the Lord has given me the opportunity to pray specifically for you.  Perhaps you will join me in spirit as I read and reread Psalm 91 which I did for my son when he was a medic in Vietnam and my son-in-law on a nuclear submarine.  I also ask that the Lord will be with your family.  That He will bless, guide, strengthen them, provide for all their needs, and keep them from all from all harm while you are gone.  I pray that when you return, your lives will be more blessed because of your faithful service.

Yours in Jesus Christ

He Will Cover You With His Feathers...

Monday, 21 July 2008 10:41 by Bible Review

He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge.  His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.  You will not fear the terror of night not the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks the darkness, nor the plague that destroys the midday. -Psalm 91:4-6

I pray for your safety and strength for your family everyday!  Also that you will come back to your families arms safe and very soon!  Thank you for the journey you're making for all of us!

May These Words Bring Life...

Monday, 21 July 2008 10:04 by Bible Review

Greetings from Phoenix, AZ!

I commend your effort and sacrifice to help defend our nation.  May these words bring life and new hope to your heart.  When you have the time in the midst of all your service duties, sit down and open His Word, waiting to hear from the Lord.  The idea of hearing from the Lord is one that many are confused by.  How do I even know if God is speaking to me at any given moment?  Well the truth is that God wants to be in constant communion with all that seek Him. At times, he may have certain words of direction.  At others, He may want to simply remind you to rest.  All in all, the Lord will not fail you if you give Him a real chance to show you life like you could never imagine!  Do you believe it?  Well, listen to that deep cry of your heart; surrender to God and listen.  By verbally sacrificing your life to and for God, you are ready to hear His great and personal voice.  Try it; you'll like it and be swept away by His voice.

There Is An Empty Hole In The Heart Of Every Person...

Sunday, 20 July 2008 19:07 by Bible Review

There is an empty hole in the heart of every person.  There is an internal knowledge that there should be something more.  There is a longing, a loneliness, a need to be loved.  People try many ways to fill the void: relationships, success, material possessions.  But nothing satisfies.  The only thing that can fill that emptiness is a relationship with the Creator of all things; Jesus Christ.  I can personally attest to that.  Read His story.  He speaks through His Word.  Start with the Gospel of John.  Soldier, thank you for serving your country so faithfully and for making sacrifices to protect the freedoms we enjoy.  I am so proud of you.  You are in my prayers.

God bless,

Sarah, AZ

I Am A Combat Medic...

Sunday, 20 July 2008 18:54 by Bible Review

Hey There!

I just wanted to say that I am proud of you, your platoon, and the job you are doing.  I know that these deployments are hard, and you get homesick at times.  I know this because I am a combat medic.  I think of you all every day.  I pray for your safety, that you may do what you feel is right and know God loves you.  It's okay.  It's rough now, but one day, you will look back on this time and be proud or thankful.  I am.  Somethings I don't agree with, but serving your country is something to also be proud of always.  Whether you get out or stay in, thousands of heads are bowed to wish you all safely home.  You are not alone.  You are loved.

Love,

SPC Boyter

I Pray For Thee...

Friday, 11 July 2008 12:35 by Bible Review
I pray for thee, my faithful soldier
Though I've never known your name.
I pray for thee, oh faithful soldier
Though you've never known fortune and fame.
Through fire and flames
Your path may travel
Hold tight to your faith,
May it never unravel.
You might shed tears
Over things once done
Or doubt that this battle
shall ever be won.
In the midst of echo of thunder and roar
May the Spirit of God
Be your open door.
Beneath human armor,
lies confusion and fear
Let this beacon you hold
Make your path very clear.
And though darkness enfungles
And evil shares
Just remember, dear soldier,
You are always in my prayers.

I Thank God...

Friday, 11 July 2008 12:20 by Bible Review

Thanks for serving!

I thank God for your service, safety, and continued commitment.  Please stay the course and remember that those of us who have also served here keep you in prayer.  When I was in, we had a saying,"Your only as fast as your slowest man and only as strong as your weakest link".  Seek to make the weak stronger as Christ makes us stronger.  Protect the slow and encourage them.  Remember that whatever you face, Christ is there with you.

I Don't Know You But I Do...

Friday, 11 July 2008 11:14 by Bible Review

Dear Sir or Madam,

I don't know you, but I do!  I know who you are and I have all kinds of information about you.  I know the things you like and I want to tell you.  First, you are loved not just by me but by God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.  He made you to have character.  He made you to have honor.  He made you to have courage.  He made you to love.  How beautiful you are and how protected I feel.  Because of your service, because of who you are, my daughter and I can rest peacefully.  Yes, I don't know your name, but I am praying for you and your family and God knows how to bring my prayers for your protection.  May His angels be about you always!

In His Love,

In My Work Commute...

Friday, 11 July 2008 11:11 by Bible Review

In my work commute I regurly tune into conservative radio talk programs, and something often done are reports and interviews with men and women who have recently served or are currently serving in military operations in Afghanistan and Iraq.  I've heard interviews with wounded soldiers or family who lost a loved one.  My heart is breaking one moment or swelling with American pride as I've heard them talk about their dedication to the value of work necessary and sacrifice required to change our world for the better.  I've heard remote broadcasts in which these military personnel share about encouraging things they've seen happening in the communitieswhere they are deployed.  Good things such as locals they've gotten to know, about success in operations they're involved in, or signs of change that are achievments worth noting.  The voices of courageous people like you and the marvelous stories are too rarely told in "regular" news programming.  But, please know that there are sources where the word does get out about critical work you are doing and your perseverence.  You are the best that America has to offer.  I love and appreciate you (and those serving with you) more than I could put into mere words. Thank you and may God bring you home safely!

Very Truly Yours,

Todd

Words Cannot Express...

Friday, 11 July 2008 10:29 by Bible Review

"There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friend."-John 15:13

Dear Soldier,

Words cannot express how much I appreciate what you are doing for our country.   I am thinking about you and praying for you.  My dad was a Dutch marine.  My parents were in a Japenese concentration camp for four years.  Because of their sacrifice, I have been blessed to had a chance to come to America and become an American citizen.  God has a plan and a purpose for your life.  He knows your name an he created you!  God is with you wherever you are.  I hope you will start reading this Bible.  I love the Psalms and John.  It will change your life.  You can call on God anytime.  His Son, Jesus, came down to this earth and gave up His life on earth so that if we believe and ask Him to forgive us, we can spend eternity with Him in heaven.

With love,

Ria

You Are My Sibling...

Friday, 11 July 2008 10:02 by Bible Review

Hi,

Whoever you are, I might not know you personally, but I do know that you are my sibling, because we are all one family, children of God.  I pray that you will be able to catch as many blessings as possible everyday because God's grace and blessings pour like rain everyday down on you.  So, keep your hands wide open and get those blessings!  I hope that your walk with Jesus Christ will become closer, more intimate, and stronger through the Holy Words of God.  God is always here for us, and our body is a temple of God's.  Through whatever trial we face, it will never be too much for us to handle, and He is always there to hold us up, provide us with hope, faith, love, trust, and strength to go on each day.  Sometimes, life may seem hard, but just always remember that God is alive, and also that He is a good God who loves, cares, and understands us beyond our own comprehension. Heres some cool stuff:

  1. Don't tell God how big your problem is; tell your problem how big God is.
  2. Faith starts where power ends.

My Dad Was On Iwo Jima...

Friday, 11 July 2008 09:50 by Bible Review

Dear Soldier of the U.S. Amed Forces,

My dad was on Iwo Jima.  He said he was closer to God on that mountain than me or any civilian.  I believed him in theory and all, but I really just wanted to see him in heaven because this life isn't long enough.  Fifty years after the war, he received Jesus as his Savior.  His last few years were healing and whole.  I appreciate all your acts and service because I know that freedom isn't free.  Freedom from anger, addiction, and ultimately hell, is free in Jesus.  I will be praying for freedom for your soul as you face uncertain days.

"Un-forgiveness is like being locked in your own chamber of horrors."- Corrie ten Boom

Thank You,

A Veteran's child of World War 2

God Be With You!

Friday, 11 July 2008 09:36 by Bible Review

Dear Servicemember,

God be with you!  Wherever that may be.  Thank you for who you are and what you do, you are not forgotten... Not by me, not by the people you defend, and most certainly not by God.  I don't know who you are or if you even care about this book in your hands, but I want you to know that there is something in here for you.  We all struggle in this life, and whatever your personal struggle is, God has something to say about it and He has the strength you need to get through it.  Just like the way you are a member of a platoon, batallion, regiment or whatever - you aren't alone and can't do your mission by yourself, it's the same in your every day life - you can't do this alone.  So don't try.  Look to God and let Him be your shelter and your refuge.  I hope that you are encouraged even a little bit with this - any part, and know that I will be praying for you - whoever and where ever you are!

In Christ, Linnea

You Are An Amazing Person...

Thursday, 10 July 2008 17:24 by Bible Review

Dear Soldier,

You are an amazing person.  You inspire so many people.  Thank you so much for fighting out there for our country's freedom.  I have talked about joining the army, but then I became really scared about it.  Then I think of you, and how brave you are.  Read God's Word and stay encouraged.  Whatever happens, God is your main protection.  Have courage and know that God is in control.  HAve God's Word in mind.  All you need is faith, trust, and God's Word.  Philippians 4:13 says,"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."  Proverbs 3:5-6 says,"Trust in the Lord with all you heart and lean not on your own understandings.  In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight."  So, thanks again.  You are such an inspiration, and I hope that someday I can be like you. There's a song I'd like to write... write part of it: "Did I ever tell you, you're my hero?  You're everything- everything, I wish I could be.  Oh and I, I can fly higher than an eagle.  You are the wind beneath my wings."

Thank you again Soldier,

Alexis, age 13
