My family wants to thank you...

Monday, 10 November 2008 21:01 by Bible Review

Dear Soldier,

My family wants to thank you & bless you for your gallant efforts in protecting us overseas.  We know you volunteered for this role, but may not know God is watching over you.  In coming to the Lord I have learned to study His Word, His Bible.  I had once made fun of it - descecrated it wuntil I became a believer.  May you take the time to read His Word and allow it to comfort you as it does me.

During WWII Franklin Roosevelt gave the soldiers a Bible as they went off to war.  Here is what he wrote in each one - May you get strength from his message, "As Commander-In-Chief, I take pleasure in commending the reading of the Bible to all who serve in the armed forces of the United States of America.  Throughout the centuries men of many faiths and diverse origins have found in the Sacred Book word of wisdom, counsel and inspiration.  It is a foundation of strength and now, as always, and aid in attaining the highest aspirations of the human soul."

May God be with you,

Dwight & Kathy

Hope...

Monday, 10 November 2008 20:55 by Bible Review

Hope

Without hope, there is no light,

Without hope, there is no joy

Without hope, there is no love

Hope is our prayer in times of need

Hope is the conqeror of despair

Hope is the feeling that lifts our souls

Withour hope there are no homes, only houses

Without hope there is no peace, only reasons to fight

Hope is what lifts our prayers

Hope is what allows us to dream

Hope is what makes us whole

May God go with you

When I Wore The Uniform...

Saturday, 27 September 2008 10:20 by Bible Review

Dear Soldier,

God be with you! That is my prayer as I send this note.  When I wore the uniform in the 90s, I didn't really know the living Christ.  Now that He is my best friend, I want to share Him with the world.  Inside these pages you can be comforted as you discover the single most universal truth- God is in control.  I pray the angels guard you, truth surrounds you, and God comforts you until your safe return.

I Understand What You Are Experiencing...

Saturday, 27 September 2008 09:59 by Bible Review

Dear New Friend,

Thank you for your service to our country.  I deeply appreciate your sense of loyalty and patriotism.  It's my sincerest hope for you that this Holy Bible will be a comfort and learning tool for you as you continue your journey here on earth and grow in Christian faith.  My father, two uncles, brother, and I all served in the U.S. Navy in WWI, WWII, Cuban Missile Crisis, and Vietnam eras.  I understand the seperation, loneliness, and danger that you are experiencing.  All of us are/were Christian and learned to trust and obey God's will as the answer for our lives and I truly believe it can be that for you as well.  Put your trust in God; He'll never fail you!

God bless and keep you,

Jack

It Was Worth Every Day In South Korea...

Saturday, 27 September 2008 09:27 by Bible Review

Dear fellow veteran or serviceman,

I served in the Air Force in the Korean War.  I did not know why I was fighting for people half way around the world.  Today in Seoul South Korea sits the Yoido Full Gospel Church, seating 25,000 people .  The pastor is Dr. David Yonggi Cho.  More than 800,000 people attend the seven services they have in a day.  It was worth every day, every month, every year that I served.  They are free people today.  All you service men are special.  Thank you for serving our Country.

He Hears Your Every Word...

Saturday, 23 August 2008 15:48 by Bible Review

Hi!

This is Andy and Emily from Southern California.  First, we would like to thank you for protecting our country, for fighting for our freedom, and for standing up in justice.  We admire and respect you for doing what too many are afraid to do.  We realize the sacrifices you have made... for us... people you have never met, but we know and hope you know that God is holding you in His arms.  He hears your every word, sees your every tear, and knows your every breathe.  He is there, even in the times you feel He is not, He is there to carry you through.  Remember, He will never hand you something too difficult to handle and will always be there to hold you up.  He wants to be you strength, light, and hope.  If you hold your hand out to Him and let Him take it, you will never be lost.

Our Prayer:

Father God,

In a world torn by injustice, raise up these soldiers who are committed to defending your cause.  Rain down your power, Lord, that this soldier may be steadfast in courage, in love, and in truth.  We ask these things in Jesus' name.  Amen.

Bible Verses:

2 Corinthians 4 (the whole thing)

2 Corinthians 1:3-7

2 Timothy 2:1-3

God Loves Humor...

Saturday, 23 August 2008 14:59 by Bible Review

Thank You for your courage and loyalty for the United States of America!  We are praying for the safe return of you and your troop.  Always remember that God loves everyone and is waiting them to call on Him.  Pray for the enemy to repent.  Anyways, I hear that God loves humor too.  I thought the next page might cheer you up, and up is what it was all about.  There was an atheist walking in the forest.  He was admiring the wonderful sound the wind makes going through the trees and the beautiful flowers when suddenly hears something behind him.  He turns around to find a huge bear.  He runs as fast as he can but but the bear catches him.  "Oh my God," he screams.  Everything stops.  Then God says,"You admire all I have made but you deny me, and you call on me?"  The man says,"Okay, after all these years of me not believing, I don't expect nor deserve your forgiveness.  But at least make the bear a Christian."  God agrees.  As everything returns to normal, the bear bows his heads and says,"Thank you, Father, for this meal."  HAHAHA

P.S. God forgives everyone because of Jesus dying for us all.  None of us deserve it, but believe in faith and don't worry about "bears".

We love you and God bless you!

It Was God's Grace...

Tuesday, 19 August 2008 13:34 by Bible Review

Dear Defender of Freedom,

You are appreciated and honored!  Our prayers are with you daily.  Thank you for your courageous sacrifice.  I don't know who will recieve this Bible , but our loving Lord and Savior Jesus Christ does and has a plan for your life!  My name is Loren and I lived for myself for 57 years; a liar, drunkard, adulturer, etc.  I goofed on Christians and mocked them, even resented them.  I was so consumed in myself that I thought they were judging me!  In November of 2000, I was on the brink of divorce and all that goes with it.  I was in my backyard one night and I asked out loud, "God, if you're real, show me!"  God was in fact already drawing me closer to Him.  Psalm 51:17 says, "The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit.  You will not reject a broken and repentent heart, O God."  I saw the dead ugly man I was and it was God's grace that penetrated this hard heart.  Salvation cannot be earned, it is a free gift.  We must recognize we are all sinners; born that way through Adam.  Read Romans 10:9-13.  Jesus paid the ransom by dying on the cross and rose! He conquered death!

May God keep you,

Loren and Kathy

He's Counted Every Tear You've Cried...

Wednesday, 13 August 2008 21:32 by Bible Review

Dear Soldier of God,

You are truly special.  I'm honored to send you this message.  God knows your name before you were ever born.  He's counted each tear you've cried, each mile you've walked.  He's embedded your prayers in a stone.  Yes. He will answer each and every one of them above and beyond what you can imagine.  He will send His strongest angels to guide, protect, and light your way.  A thousand may fall around you, ten thousand more.  But no harm will be allowed to befall you.  He stands to watch over your tent.  He will not let you stumble on the rocks that are laid before you.  He will protect you, his special child.  Almighty God will never leave you or forsake you; He will never let you go.  All He asks is that you claim the hand He holds out for you.  He awaits you with open arms and extended hands of love, protection, and shield of His armor.

God bless you I pray,

Christine

You Have My Undying Support...

Wednesday, 13 August 2008 21:08 by Bible Review

My husband was a construstion electrician in MCB 3, serving four years in Okinawa to Guam.  My son-in-law was a colonel in the Marines and served three tours in Vietnam with three purple hearts to show for it.  I want you to know that you have my undying support and prayers as you fight for your freedom and the freedom of others.  I hope you have an oppurtunity to read this Holy Bible.  John is a good book to start with.  John 3:16-17 are good scriptures for a start.

Wise People Treasure Knowledge...

Tuesday, 12 August 2008 20:35 by Bible Review
Proverbs 10:14 tells us that wise people treaure knowledge.  It is my hope and prayer for you that you will be wise and God's Word will be your treasure.  In this uncertain world, it is the daily reading of Scripture that keeps me grounded.  Starting in Proverbs, I read a chapter each day that coincides with the day of the month(today I read chapter 20).  And then if there was time, I read and studied another book in the Bible(right now I am also reading the book of Acts a little bit at a time).  Reading consistently and praying about what I have read results in strength and courage to face another day- and most importantly, joy.  Hopefully this Bible will do the same, and more for you.  Thank you for your steadfast service to our country.  May God bless you above and beyond what you can even imagine.

God's Message To You...

Tuesday, 12 August 2008 19:52 by Bible Review

Friend and Serviceman and Woman,

Thanks for your dedicated service in a time of war and crisis against the enemy's of God.  I am a veteran of the U.S. Army and the  Vietnam War.  It was my time in hell (67-68), so I know what you are going through.  General Boykin's special forces men saved our lives more than once.  His personal testimony is attached.  His words will encourage you just as his courage in the face of battle encouraged me.  Trust in God's Words.  I have been in public service most of my life and people have tried to kill me more than once, and for some reason God has spared my life.  Maybe for this moment in time that I might send words of encouragement to you.  After Vietnam, I served as a state trooper for 26 years.

May God richly bless you and His peace shine on your life,

Henry

God's Message to You

"The Words of the Bible are God's message to you.  It is your field manual and your doctrinal guide.  God provides this to us as warriors to teach us, to guide us, and to mentor us.  Read it and study it.  Trust in the Author. God has an army that can and will fight to your front, rear, and all sides to assure your victory.  Remember to call on the name of Christ in your time of distress, fear, pain, and difficulty.  Jeremiah 33:3 reminds us of this when He says ,'Call onto me, and I will answer you and show you great and might things.'  No matter what your situation, God promises in His Words that He will never 'leave you or forsake you.'  So remember, God is there, just call on Him.

This Book Is My Gift...

Saturday, 26 July 2008 17:59 by Bible Review

This Book is my gift to you because you are my hero.  You are in a place of danger, so I can live in a place of safety.  You are seperated from friends and family, so my family peacefully exists.  You are the backbone of our great nation.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart for going where you are, doing what you do, and being who you are.

I pray for safety, for God's peace and protection no matter what my befall you.  Know that for as long as I live, you have someone praying for you every day, and trust that God will hear my prayers and will bless you now and for ever more.

You are my hero! On the next page is my prayer for you.  When you pray it, know I am praying it also with you.  God will hear us both;

Heavenly Father, You have told us the very hairs on our heads are numbered.  You love us so much!  Hear us now and grant us Your peace and protection.  Send Your Holy Spirit to strengthen us, as we become weary from fear and loneliness.  Help us find Your plan for us as we meet wach new day with apprehension, and finally, thank you Lord for giving us eternal life with You.  Thank you Jesus, our Savior, Your Son, who sacrificed Himself willingly so we can be free from sin's power and death.  You, Father, are the Power and the Glory forever and ever, Amen

Again, accept my most sincere and deepest gratitude which I also extend to your family who suffers in your absence.

Bless you, Penny

It Was These Words That LIfted Me...

Tuesday, 22 July 2008 19:14 by Bible Review

Hello,

I do not know your name, where you are, or any of the things you face in life each day.  But, I know the God who knows all of those things and loves you specifically (Psalm 33:13-15).  It is my sincerest hope that His words will bring you peace, challenge, wisdom, joy, guidance, and companionship.  In my darkest hours, it was these words that lifted me and in my most joyous moments, these words could reflect my heart back to me.  Thank you for serving our country.  Though I may never meet you, I will always be thankful for you and I pray that you feel God's amazing presence through His Word.

In His,

Many Of My Family Served...

Tuesday, 22 July 2008 18:54 by Bible Review

Hello Soldiers,

Many of my family served in the military; from my dad in WWI, my brother in WWII, myself in Korea, my wife's brother in Vietnam, to my son and my wife's niece in Desert Storm.  I'm sure my two year old grandson will be involved one day.  All of us who have been there know the feeling of loneliness and seperation.  Keep in mind that what you are doing for your country, family, and yourself is wholly appreciated and supported by us back home.  May God bless you, keep you, and bring you home to us.

Thank you for all you do.  My father was in the Air Force and my brother is currently.  My prayer is that when my brother is sent in harm's way, he too will receive words of encouragement.  I pray for the safety of all overseas and for their families back home.  Know that God's hands are in everything.  For encouragement, read Psalm 139.

Smile!

I Cried Out

Tuesday, 22 July 2008 18:24 by Bible Review

Dear Hero,

Thank you for serving your country.  I deeply appreciate it.  I pray for your protection and wisdom everyday.  My husband lived in California for 16 years while I raised four children; no family or help.  At my deepest despair, I cried out to the Lord,"I need wisdom, counselor. advocate, guidance, and a righteous father for my children."  I can say He answered my prayers, became part of my life, and still is.  I pray this Bible will bless you as it has me.  If the Bible is new to you, start reading in the New Testament.  I pray that you will grow in the Lord and come home a new man with a new heart.  Keep safe! God will protect you, but listen to his quiet voice.

"Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth."- Colossians 3:2

Sister in Christ,

Cindy

P.S.- We live in Arizona so I can't understand how you can bare the heat! It must be horrible! Thank you again! God bless you!

We Are The Few Left...

Tuesday, 22 July 2008 18:17 by Bible Review

Thank you so much for defending the freedom of the U.S.A.  We are the few left of all the nations to worship freely the God of the Holy Bible without physical restriction.  As the defender of freedom that you are, you are helping the gospel to reach the world where it's needed and I'm grateful for your courageous duty.  I pray for your safe return home.

In Christ,

Mark

From First Grade Sunday School...

Tuesday, 22 July 2008 16:30 by Bible Review

From First Grade Sunday School:

 Dear men,
I will give you fruit and money in a little present box.  I am six.

 Hi,

My name is Isaiah and I am seven years old.  God loves you!

 Dear Soldier

God loves you.  My name is Serena and I am six.

To the one who receives this book,

God has chosen you this day to receive His Word, this Book.  We all have sinned and stand guilty before the judgement of His law.  But God has paid the price for sins himself and if we accept His terms (surrender) we are truly free and blessed under His protection, provision, and love.  His Word will make you wise unto salvation.

Sincerely,

First grade Sunday school teacher
